RESPECT

 What do you mean when you say "respect "?

Is respect a value that's only applying to human beings?

Well, first we should respect every single person and avoid basing our behaviour and our relationships on racial, class or personal interest issues which can damage other's sense of identity and their integrity . That's already a big enterprise to be achieved. But appart from social coexistance, we should never forget that human beings do not live in isolation. 

We are part of a delicate environment we contribute to weaken moer and more. So, we are also talking about "respect" when we introduce in the classroom the issue of pollution, its effects upon the Earth and some possible solutions. It's a deep educational effect to teach our students to respect environment, from its most daily connotations inside the classroom to the most wide implications of the concept of "Nature". 

I really think we as techers should transmit the importance of respect and responsible action. No matter if we are supposed to teach adolescentes or children, English or Maths, we can always move them to think and to get engaged in eco-friendly activities such as reducing the ammount of waste we  produce every-day.
